Becoming a parent for the first time or adding to your family, can be challenging But when it comes to raising children in the military, it can also be a time of uncertainty and challenge. The Navy offers support programs to help you navigate available resources. These resources will help you plan for life with infants and toddlers, prepare for school, and find community-based support programs as your child grows.

Child & Youth Program (CYP) - Child Care

The Navy CYP meets the unique needs of the military mission, service members, and their families through programs that ensure your children are safe and in good care.

Drug Education for Youth (DEFY)

MIC 3.net includes information for Active Duty families moving their children within the U.S. public schools system. The MIC3 covers placement, graduation requirements, immunizations, records, and enrollment.

The New Parent Support Home Visitation Program (NPSHVP) is a free service for expectant Active Duty military personnel, their spouses and families with children under the age of four. The program provides prenatal and parenting skills education and offers a variety of services, including prenatal health and nutrition consultation, breastfeeding education, early child development education, parenting skills and home visitation services.

The Pregnancy & Parenthood mobile application provides Navy administrative guidance for Sailors and spouses who are starting or expanding their families. The app assists Navy families through milestone events in their lives and provides access to essential Department of Navy guidance for parenthood and pregnancy.

Tutor.com is a DoD program providing on-demand, online tutoring and homework help at no cost to eligible service members, civilian personnel, and their dependents. Live expert tutors are available 24/7 from anywhere with an internet connection.
